Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School is hosting their second L-S Fashion Show to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Tyler Cyr.
The event is endorsed by Dana-Farber, and the money raised will directly fund its cancer research programs. The show will be held at 7pm on April 11th, 2008 at the Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord, MA.
The models of the fashion show will include L-S students, teachers, and local cancer survivors. Guests will be provided with appetizers and desserts, a silent auction, and an opportunity to participate in a raffle and dance to music. The outfits being modeled in the show have been provided by several local businesses and chain stores in Sudbury, Wayland, Waltham and New York.
Some of the stores providing clothing include Anxious Earth, Apparent Style, Elizabeth Lee, Irresistibles, Jhane Barnes, Native Sun, RocaWear, Rothchilds, and Yolanda’s. There will be a variety of styles, from casual to dressy to formal-wear. There will also be prom gowns modeled from Yolanda’s and tuxedos from Formalwear Ltd. Jewelry will be modeled on the runway as well. All of the vendors have donated raffle and or silent auction items in addition to allowing the use their clothing for the show.
Participants in the silent auction will be able to bid on iPODs, clothing, jewelry, and tickets to sporting events, to name a few. In addition, designer Jhane Barnes is going to donate 10% of online sales made this year to Dana-Farber in support of the L-S Fashion Show project.
Tickets to the show are on sale at L-S as well as at Invidea and Native Sun in Sudbury. The cost for students and L-S faculty is $40; $60 for adults. To purchase tickets through the mail, send a check to L-S Fashion Show, 89 Longfellow Road, Sudbury, MA 01776. Checks should be made payable to either “L-S Fashion Show Project” or “Dana-Farber Cancer Institute”. Any questions, please email lsfashionshow2008@yahoo.com.
Students Katie Halper-Bogusky, Michelle Pacifico, Alissa Shulman, Kate Von Alt, and Katherine Welsh will be co-chairing the event, and are also readily available to answer concerns.
